This seminar is designed to help clubs on two fronts: (1) develop club training decoys to best prepare club dogs for competition. Many of the best training decoys in PSA are the club decoys that prep young dogs for competition. Understanding the theory and practice of the key training progressions will be the centerpiece of this training. (2) Help develop some of the club's decoys for attending the PSA Decoy Certification Camp. This preparation will be invaluable for increasing the chances of certification.
This seminar will cover all aspects of developing dogs for competition on the protection side of PSA including PDC, PSA 1, PSA 2 and PSA 3 routines. Learn from one of the sport's most accomplished upper level trainers, multiple high protection winner both at club trials and national competitions. Jerry Bradshaw has achieved the coveted PSA 3 National Championship twice as well as been a coach and mentor to many more trainers competing at the national championship levels of PSA. Tarheel Canine PSA is one of the most successful clubs at producing national champions in the country.
Learn from the most successful upper level PSA competitor and Judge how to handle your dog to receive maximum points. PSA is a risk/reward sport and it is essential to understand both how judges think about scenarios and how to handle in light of this, and this seminar will help you understand these key points better. Become a better competition handler, and give points where you must but don't give them away when you don't need to! Handling seminars are for novice handlers and seasoned upper level handlers alike.
From basic elements of shaping heeling and motion behaviors, to improving the quality of your dog's behaviors for competition, this seminar will open your eyes on how to create behaviors for maximum points. Learn techniques to create reliable decoy neutrality through level 3 distractions . This seminar is geared both toward presenting breakdowns of the sport to understand how to create training progressions through each of the levels, as well as to focus on problem solving areas of obedience that you may need help with.
